Hooded Oriole Ornament
Named for the male's bright hood, this oriole is at home in the southwestern U.S. Glassblowers often kept wild birds during the winter. The sound of the gas flame prompted the birds to sing. When spring arrived, the birds were set free. Birds are symbols of happiness and joy on the Christmas tree.
