It’s the season. Not just the holiday season, but the season for the movies with the most love and the happiest endings: Christmas movies. They are stories of tragedies overcome, lost love re-discovered, and new love surprisingly discovered in unlikely (but actually hugely likely) circumstances. Families have Christmas-movie marathons, they’re watched wrapping gifts or doing a puzzle, but nothing ushers in the season and puts you in the mood for spending Christmas at a perfectly decorated cabin in the woods like a Christmas movie. And there are a lot of them. So many, we can’t even cover them all here, but we’ll introduce our favorites, and connect you with the Hallmark Christmas movie schedule and the Lifetime Christmas movie schedule if one or two won’t suffice, and if, by being a true devotee, you need the entire lineup. Hallmark has four brand-new Christmas movies to add to its already extensive Christmas movie lineup. Each new movie will play every Saturday at 10/9c. Time for Him to Come Home for Christmas features a mysterious voicemail four days before Christmas making a final appeal to the love of his life. The executive producer is Blake Shelton, and this movie is the fifth installment of the series. The Gift of Peace follows the story of an artist who rediscovers her faith after losing it through tragedy. She joins a support group, and through a supportive community begins to believe again. In We Need a Little Christmas an unexpected friendship makes facing hard circumstances a little bit easier. Christmas Bedtime Stories follows the story of a mom and her young daughter keeping the love and hope alive when the husband goes MIA and is presumed dead. Stories at bedtime about him help them remain hopeful. The Lifetime channel features nine new Christmas movies this year, these four are the ones we’ve got plans to watch: Merry Swissmas follows the story of Alex who travels to Switzerland for the opening of her mother’s inn only to discover her best friend, who is dating Alex’s ex-boyfriend, will be there too. Liam, the handsome single dad, and manager of the inn, to the rescue to show Alex Swiss Christmas traditions, as well as helping Alex consider new love and forgiveness. A town’s Christmas pageant is directed by Molly, a recent widow who has lost her zest for life. In A Christmas Spark, she rediscovers her enthusiasm and ability to love when she falls in love with the show’s lead and saves the show through her voice. Kirk Franklin’s The Night Before Christmas features a tension-filled mother-daughter relationship and the hope for reconciliation when they get caught in a snowstorm and find refuge at a church where together they all band together to save the Christmas Day show and their relationship. Finding the perfect Santa for an important Christmas Gala is no easy feat. Santa Bootcamp helps an overworked event planner rediscover the magic of Christmas and love along the way. If Christmas movies are the tradition you’ve been waiting all year for the good news is that these movies are on and they’re frequent. This is a short list of the new Christmas movies for 2022, but there are countless Christmas movies playing at every moment of the day.
