Mulberry Lane Country Store

Our Story

Opened in June 1990 by Tina Salmans in Parkersburg, WV, primarily featuring hand made wares from local artists and craftsmen. We moved into our current location in 1994, a 6000 sq foot retail store on a main road coming into town. With the new location our store traffic increased 75%, Jeff Salmans joined his wife full time in the business and we started introducing many new brands and lines into our retail offerings, which included Old World Christmas Ornaments. Our first display of OWC consisted of a 4 foot wide display of beautiful, glistening holiday ornaments that were adorned with the star shape hanger on them. They quickly became one of our most popular lines, so in 2 years our display grew to a 12 foot display. Mulberry Lane is currently in our 37th year of business and Old World Christmas ornaments continue to be one of our top 5 lines in the store. Our display has grown to 24’ x 7’ wall display, plus a cabinet filled with Gum Drop ornaments and Ginger Cottages. The best part of being part of the OWC family is how many families near and far have made us a part of their Christmas traditions, from Grandparents selecting special ornaments for each grandchild, to families coming in together to pick their own keepsake each year, and just the multitude of beautiful, glistening ornaments that we sell and gift wrap to help make someone’s Christmas extra special each year.
