Blossom Opossum Ornament
45MSRP: $17.99
The Story Behind
This adorable creature is hardly playing possum as she snuggles a beautiful blossom. Opossums are well-known for their involuntary behavior of mimicking the look and smell of a dead animal when they feel threatened. Opossums are also unique for using their tail as a fifth limb as they climb, hang and balance.
Each glass ornament is mouth-blown into finely carved molds

A solution of hot liquid silver is added for exceptional color and vibrance

Ornaments are then hand-painted and hand-glittered for a fine finish

The sweet Christmas 'possum
Purchased this quaint ornament to be a Christmas gift for my Nature-loving granddaughter. She was ecstatic over it! The little possum is hanging in her window year around as a symbol of her kindness to animals. A wild possum lives in her back yard. She has named him Paul. Never did I ever expect to find a gift for her 'from Paul.' :)

A wonderful gift!!
I bought this for a relative and she LOVES it. She said she had only a few ornaments on her Christmas tree and this was one of them. The detailing is exquisite.

Adorable!!
Old World Christmas ornaments are a family tradition for us. We try to buy ornaments that represent something meaningful that happened to us during the year. We typically buy one for every family member - including the dogs. And although not every ornament ends up being an Old World, most of them are. This year our dog Lexi got into a tangle with an opossum. To us it seemed like one of the most exciting and significant things that happened to her. And it was a pretty eventful night for us too!!! So when I saw this adorable Blossom Opossum ornament I knew it would be Lexi’s ornament for 2022. We have silver and gold paint markers and we write the names and years on the bottoms of the ornaments. Each year when we put them on the tree it’s like going through a memory album. Unfortunately, me and my butterfingers dropped this adorable ornament straight out of the mailing box and it never made it to the tree. This is the first time that has ever happened!! I have been hoping it would go on sale so that I could replace it, keeping my fingers crossed!
