MSRP: $19.99

The Story Behind

Since bats live in caves, which were seen as the entrance to the netherworld, they were thought to be immortal. Western belief associates the bat with Vampires, spirits who suck the blood of the living. However, in China, the bat is a symbol of long life, happiness and many blessings.

Measurements: 1.5 X 4.25 X 2 (HxLxW)

Each glass ornament is mouth-blown into finely carved molds

A solution of hot liquid silver is added for exceptional color and vibrance

Ornaments are then hand-painted and hand-glittered for a fine finish

I bought it as a Christmas gift for a granddaughter who LOVES Halloween. I get everyone in my family a glass ornament each year, and hers are always spooky. The quality is great and I know she's gonna love it!

Old World Christmas

Hi - Isn't this clip-on bat just the greatest Halloween ornament, so beautifully perched on the tree mid-flight. So glad it fit in with your husbands other ornaments.

A Bat Ornament for 2020

We selected this bat as our 2020 commemorative ornament. Yes, after polls, searches, & so many suggestions from friends and family - we got the first one we had looked at. I didn't want toilet paper rolls, dumpsters on fire, or facemasks to remind me of this really trying year. He's beautiful & we'll cherish him forever. It's always be a gentle reminder of this difficult year and where it all started. Not that I am blaming bats - I love them and know it is not their fault for the virus. ;) Thank you Old World for providing so many options of ornaments to fit all my tastes.

The History of the Iconic Christmas Nutcracker

The history of the nutcracker is a beautiful story of human creativity from function to creativity. Today, the traditional Christmas nutcracker isn’t designed to actually crack a nut, and an entire ballet was created around this non nut-cracking figure. We have an entire category dedicated to nutcracker ornaments.
