English Mastiff Ornament

3 reviews

MSRP: $19.99

The Story Behind

This giant breed is a descendant of the molossus, an extinct Roman war dog; the current gentler version was developed in England. These dogs are great protectors and family dogs, but they have giant appetites to match their size. Did you know that a mastiff sailed over on the Mayflower?

Measurements: 3 X 3.75 X 1.5 (HxLxW)

Each glass ornament is mouth-blown into finely carved molds

A solution of hot liquid silver is added for exceptional color and vibrance

Ornaments are then hand-painted and hand-glittered for a fine finish

In Memory

I loved the piece. It was my Clem all over. He passed about four weeks ago, so this was an "In Memory of."

Beautiful Mastiff

We finally found an English Mastiff that looked like ours. She was a gentle giant who was very afraid of many, but extremely loving with us. We were able to love her for 11 years. This ornament reminds me of her.

The History of the Iconic Christmas Nutcracker

The history of the nutcracker is a beautiful story of human creativity from function to creativity. Today, the traditional Christmas nutcracker isn’t designed to actually crack a nut, and an entire ballet was created around this non nut-cracking figure. We have an entire category dedicated to nutcracker ornaments.
