Northern Flicker Ornament
The Story BehindBirds are symbols of happiness and joy, so they are regarded as a necessity on the Christmas tree. Glassblowers often kept wild birds during the winter months since the sound of the gas flame in the workshop prompted the birds to sing. Then when spring arrived, the birds returned to freedom.
Each glass ornament is mouth-blown into finely carved molds
A solution of hot liquid silver is added for exceptional color and vibrance
Ornaments are then hand-painted and hand-glittered for a fine finish
I love my flicker. Beautiful and well made.
this ornament was beautiful. The details were so true to the bird. Loved it.
The Flicker ornament is so pretty & very true to the real thing. Got this for our young nephew who has become very interested in our feathered friends. The ornament will be clipped on his Christmas package containing a Field Guide to Western Birds.
