Sweet Pickle Ornament
The Story BehindLong ago when parents decorated the Christmas tree, they hung the pickle ornament last, hiding it in the green boughs. When the children were allowed to view the tree, they began searching for the pickle ornament because the first to find it would receive an extra gift from St. Nicholas for being the most observant child.
Each glass ornament is mouth-blown into finely carved molds
A solution of hot liquid silver is added for exceptional color and vibrance
Ornaments are then hand-painted and hand-glittered for a fine finish
This is a gift for my son and his family. We have always had the traditional pickle on our tree and hope to continue the tradition for his family. I love the craftsmanship of all the Old World Ornaments and the customer service from the time of order to shipment. I have purchased several ornaments this year to give as Saint Nicholas gifts, another German tradition.
