Great Ways to Personalize Ornaments

Old World Christmas specializes in making memorable Christmas memories. Our ornaments are unlike any others. We have over 1500 designs representing any hobby, animal, interest, food or holiday. Our Christmas ornaments are given as gifts to commemorate special occasions, to celebrate favorite holidays, and to honor significant people. Old World Christmas ornaments make a tree dazzle. Our ornaments are glass blown, hand painted and detailed with touches of glitter. They are nothing short of eye-catching on the tree each winter.

Even though our ornaments represent special and significant moments, personalizing makes any ornament even more memorable. We offer simple personalization services on a couple (12)  of our ornaments and hope to add more in the future. Even though it seems like we would never forget the details of our most significant life events, adding them to a special ornament solidifies the detail forever. Here’s how to personalize your favorite ornament with a personalized detail.

1. Choose a special ornament from the personalization collection.

2. If available for personalization by OWC there will be a button next to the item.

3. Type in the name/message that you would like our team to had write for you.

4. If the personalization by OWC is not available you can still purchase the piece but just personalize it yourself.

5. Check out as usual, and look forward to receiving your personalized ornaments.

Please check and double check the details and spelling of your instructions. Once you have submitted your order, we are unable to change the personalization details. We will hand-letter the details exactly as they are given to us, and once an ornament has been personalized by Old World Christmas, the ornament cannot be returned.

Even though our personalization option is convenient, many of our customers personalize ornaments themselves. Technically any of our Christmas ornaments can be written on with a black Sharpie® marker, but some ornaments have larger flat spots, ideal for personalization. If you are trying to write more than a name and the year on the bottom of an ornament, and personalize the ornament specifically, a Sharpie® works, but a fine paint pen is even better. The ink of the Sharpie® on the glass ornament is a bit muted, but a paint pen doesn’t sink into the glass. Paint pens come in many colors and thicknesses, and are sold at a hobby or craft store or can be found online.

You have one shot at getting the lettering right, and if you don’t trust your penmanship, ask a friend or hire it out! This is a task you don’t want to mess up. If you don’t know anyone artistic or with a steady hand inquire at a local art school, do a Google search for calligraphy or local hand lettering, or see if Fiverr or a similar site has a hand-letting artist for hire. If you want to avoid hand lettering altogether, you could order customized small vinyl stickers to stick on an ornament. Etsy sells customized stickers in any color, font, size, and you would just have to stick them on the ornament.

However you decide to do it, customizing an Old World Christmas ornament adds a special, memorable touch. To remember life’s most important moments, consider personalizing your Christmas ornaments for those you love this year.
