We Want Your Ideas for Ornaments!

A common question we get asked a lot is, “how do you come up with all your Christmas ornament ideas?” It’s a great question we love to answer because so many of our ornaments are ideas from our customers. Yep! We crowd source and collect ideas for new ornaments from customers who are searching for something special. Some ideas and suggestions are a result of not having a specific ornament a customer is hoping for. With 1,500+ ornaments it’s hard to believe there are still ornaments “missing,” but we get new ideas every week for ornaments we don’t currently carry.

We love getting ideas from our customers because we believe that though we can (and do!) keep up with trends, we believe that our customers are the best source for what people are looking for. Each year, Old World Christmas gets from 300-400 new ornament suggestions. Though we’d love to make each and every suggestion into an ornament, we introduce about 150 new ornaments each year. We retire a handful of ornaments as well so we aren’t stressing out our elves in the warehouse. Every idea is considered, and the lucky few make it into the design process. Not all of our ornaments are customer ideas, our staff considers trends, culture, holidays and lifestyle necessities as we come up with a new season of ornaments.

Is there a Christmas ornament you’ve always dreamed of? Is there something special you want to remember or commemorate or a special event that needs celebrating? We want to hear about it, and we would be honored if you’d submit your idea to us! Fill out this form with a bit of information and your idea! The sky’s the limit, if you can dream it we can make it! Our ornament-making process is an incredible one, and from start to finish we are passionate about each step.

When we create our list of new ornaments they go through the design process. We have to make sure the idea is feasible for an ornament. The designs themselves go through edits and more edits until the perfect design is achieved. From the drawings templates and first forms are created. Our design team studies them and makes more edits. Once they are perfect, they’re ready for production. That’s when the magic happens. We have a forty-foot bulletin board in our design room that hosts the entire collection at once. It’s spectacular!

We believe that ornaments aren’t just for Christmas—we think ornaments look great on the tree—but we love it when our ornaments commemorate a special holiday, event or vacation during all the other times of the year. At our reasonable price point, an ornament makes the perfect gift topper or gift itself to remember special life events. Giving a personal gift creates so much meaning, and though we’re confident you’ll find something we already offer, if not, we’re ready with your new, spectacular idea.

So we’d love your ideas. If you can’t find the perfect ornament you’re looking for, but you think it’d be a popular one, please let us know, we’d love to hear about it.

Still waiting to see what you come with for all 50 states. And different countries or Islands. I hope some day you will come up with these. Thanks
