Partridge In A Pear Ornament

MSRP: $17.99

The Story Behind

In the song The Twelve Days of Christmas, the partridge in a pear tree symbolizes Christ. Years ago, the song served as a secret means of teaching English Catholic’s the basics of their faith which was outlawed at the time. This carol has lost many of its old connotations and is now a merry standard of the holiday season.

Nice Ornament

This is a nice ornament. It sparkles and the colors work well with the subject matter. However, after receiving the lemon slice and ‘Man in the Moon’ ornaments in the same shipment as the ‘Partridge’ ornament, I can’t give it four stars. The rendering on the partridge is clumsy compared to the the exquisite faces of the man in the moon. And the lemon slice comes with all the bumps and pulp you see in a slice. I also thought the partridge ornament would be bigger.

Partridge in a pear ornament

Great I have it as a topper to my 12 days of Christmas tree. All ornaments are that theme and I sequined a tree skirt with that theme. The ornament sits in a real bird’s nest with real partridge feathers around it.

Partridge in a pear tree

One of my Christmas trees is 12 Days of Christmas. All ornaments are that theme. I will take the partridge in a pear ornament and put it in a real bird’s nest and that will be my tree topper. PERFECT!!! Made a tree skirt this year with that theme and all twelve things on the skirt are sequined. It should make an awesome tree. But the ornament makes it ssooo special and a perfect topper on the tree. Thanks!!
