Dodo Bird Ornament

4 reviews

$16.99 MSRP: $8.49

The Story Behind

Dodo Birds lived undisturbed on an Indian Ocean island for so long that they lost the need and ability to fly. It is believed the Dodo went extinct because sailors ate the beast to extinction after finding they were easy to catch.

Measurements: 3.75 X 3 X 2 (HxLxW)

Each glass ornament is mouth-blown into finely carved molds

A solution of hot liquid silver is added for exceptional color and vibrance

Ornaments are then hand-painted and hand-glittered for a fine finish

Remembering the Dodo

With it’s sad history of extinction, having the Dodo on my tree is a way to remember him. He’s cute, glittery and fits right in.

Caucus Race

Very glad to have found a Dodo ornament for my Alice in Wonderland Christmas tree. If not for the glitter, I would have rated it 5 stars. Glitter always falls off, and it's annoying to still be vacuuming it up months after Christmas. But a wonderfully whimsical ornament!

The History of the Iconic Christmas Nutcracker

The history of the nutcracker is a beautiful story of human creativity from function to creativity. Today, the traditional Christmas nutcracker isn’t designed to actually crack a nut, and an entire ballet was created around this non nut-cracking figure. We have an entire category dedicated to nutcracker ornaments.
